Event Description

Summerfest officials are excited to announce the fifth and sixth Marcus Amphitheater shows slated for Summerfest 2009. The Fray will headline on Saturday, July 4 along with opening act Jack’s Mannequin. Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire will co-headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Tuesday, June 30.

The Fray’s premier single "Over My Head (Cable Car)" was a top ten hit in the United States, and “How to Save a Life” reached the top three on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, gaining them international praise. Their first single off their self-titled sophomore album “You Found Me” is currently at the top position on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.

Opening the show is the piano rock band Jack’s Mannequin, fronted by Andrew McMahon from the group Something Corporate.

Summerfest officials are also excited to announce several additional headlining acts that will perform this year. Times and stage locations for these acts have yet to be determined, however these artists are officially signed to perform at Summerfest 2009. Frankie Beverly & Maze will perform on Friday, June 26. Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco will headline on Monday, June 29. The seven-piece band Flogging Molly will headline on Saturday, July 4. Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band will perform on opening night, Thursday, June 25. Soul singer Anthony Hamilton will headline on Sunday, July 5.

Summerfest officials are excited to announce the tenth Marcus Amphitheater show slated for Summerfest 2009. Stevie Wonder will headline on Sunday June 28 along with special guest John Legend.
Wonder has had 30 top 10 hits, such as "Living For The City," "Signed Sealed Delivered," "My Cherie Amour" and "Boogie On Reggae Woman" and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 as well as the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2002.

Legend has earned seven Grammy Awards including Best R&B Album, Best R&B Male Vocal Performance, and Best New Artist and his hit singles include "Ordinary People," and "Green Light."

This is the only date that Stevie Wonder and John Legend will perform together this summer.

Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 16 at 10 AM and will be available for $82.00 (Red), $67.00 (Yellow), $57.00 (bench) and $32.00 (lawn). All prices include Summerfest admission.
